In Afghanistan, the official opening ceremony of the program “Promoting the cultivation of wheat in order to sustainable development in Central Afghanistan” was held. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by the temporary attorney in Kazakhstan in Afghanistan Gaziz Akbasov.
The organizer of the event was the Islamic organization of food security (IOPB) with the support of Kazakhstan and Turkey, a meeting on interaction and confidence measures in Asia (SVMDA), as well as the Turkish coordination and coordination agency (TIKA). The project is financed jointly by Kazakhstan, IPB, Turkey, Tika and Svmda.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Afghanistan S. Azam, Governor of the Province of Logar Z. Madani, Deputy Head of the Turkish Embassy in Afghanistan B. Biral, IPB representative E. Yuksek and other officials.
, in the framework of the program, the farmers of the Logar province were provided with humanitarian aid: 15 tons of the seeds of wheat of Lalmi varieties and Amir, which distributed between 300 farmers from the Baraki-Barak, Mohammad-Aga and bullet-alam regions. In addition, 15 tons of fertilizers and 30 tons of urea were transmitted to increase soil fertility.
The Governor of the Province of Logar expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan, Turkey, IPB, Svmda and Tika for the support provided to the people of Afghanistan.
According to him, Afghan peasants are in dire need of wheat seeds, as well as other crops such as beans and lentils.
In this regard, the governor asked to continue the provision of humanitarian assistance in the form of supplies of wheat seeds, as well as consider the possibility of providing new irrigation systems and agricultural equipment to support Afghanistan peasants.
