Kazakhstan will direct black boxes of Azerbaijan Airlines that have crashed under Aktau to the Center for the Investigation and Prevention of the Aviation Accidents of Brazil (Cenipa).
This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.
“In accordance with the standards of Appendix 13 of the Chicago Convention, the state conducting the investigation ensures the reading of the notes of the on -board recorders and decides to choose a country for reading and deciphering black boxes,” the department noted.
Kazakhstan ratified this Convention in 1992 and is a member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
“on the basis of the above document, as well as taking into account the recommendation of ICAO and consultations with the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan and Russia, the Commission for the Investigation of the Aviation Accident, headed by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabaev, a decision was made on the direction of on -board self -recorders (black boxes) to the center Investigation and prevention of aviation accidents of Brazil (Cenipa), which is also the manufacturer of the Embraer aircraft, ”the Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport said.
