Kirill Stremuosov, who calls himself deputy head of the military-civil administration of the Kherson region, said that a referendum on joining Russia will be held in the region. He said that Ukrainian banks will no longer work in the region – the first bank of the Russian Federation will begin to fully work in Kherson. Initially, representatives of the military-civil administration said that a referendum is not needed, since its results are still not recognized at the international level. However, later they spoke in favor of organizing voting.
“Of course, this will be a plebiscite. It will be the will of the people … It is most likely a referendum that will be held in the Kherson region for self-determination. And the next step will be the elections,” Interfax quotes.
According to him, the Kherson region was left without legislative power, it will temporarily replace the Public Council. “The public council has been created, which is represented by the people, and they will make intermediate decisions,” explained Kirill Stremuosov.
