Ukraine has prepared a plan for resolving the conflict in Donbass together with Germany and France, Kiev expects Russia’s reaction to this plan, said Andriy Yermak, head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reports the Ukrinform agency.
“Today on the table is a specific peace plan proposed by Germany and France, finalized by Ukraine, which, we believe, meets the spirit of Minsk, complies with the norms of international law,” Ermak quotes TASS.
“I emphasize that a peaceful plan is on the table … and we very much expect the same position from the Russian Federation,” said the head of the Ukrainian president’s office.
According to Yermak, if Russia does not agree with the plan proposed by Ukraine, it “means that it does not want an end to the war and the coming of peace in the territory of Donbass.
Yermak added that, according to the Ukrainian side, if agreed upon, this plan could become the basis for a roadmap aimed at establishing peace in Donbass, reintegrating territories not controlled by Kiev and holding local elections.
The head of Zelenskiy’s office hopes that the plan will become “the subject of powerful discussion in a week or two” during a Normandy format videoconference.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the contact group Leonid Kravchuk said earlier that Ukraine had proposed a plan of joint steps to resolve the conflict in Donbass. According to Kravchuk, this plan is fully consistent not only with the spirit, but also with the letter of the Minsk agreements.
