King Morocco Urged People To Abandon Sacrifices Due To Drought And Economic Difficulties

King Morocco Muhammad VI, due to the drought caused by climate change and economic problems, called on the country of the country to abandon sacrifices this year, adding that he would perform this rite on behalf of the Moroccans.

The message of King Muhammad VI regarding the refusal of sacrifices was read out by the Minister for Religion and Charity of Morocco Ahmed Etophic on state television.

The king’s report indicates that the country has climatic and economic difficulties that led to a significant reduction in livestock. It was also emphasized that although sacrifice is an important religious rite, its fulfillment in the current conditions can be an overwhelming burden for the poor in the population.

In this regard, the country’s authorities called on the people to abandon customs and reported that King Muhammad VI himself would perform this rite on behalf of the whole people.

The message also noted that Kurban Bayram will be marked with the preservation of all its spiritual values ​​and traditional rituals.

The rejection of sacrifices in Morocco has already taken place three times: in 1963, 1981 and 1996.
