Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced an emergency situation with coronavirus in the Ukrainian capital. “Strana.ua” informs about it.
According to him, if the rate of spread of COVID-19 and the number of hospitalizations do not decrease, in Kiev, in a few days, vacant places in hospitals for patients may run out.
“I want to emphasize that the situation is really difficult. Today, more than 3,500 hospitalized patients are in hospitals of the capital’s medical institutions. Patients and with suspected coronavirus. Of these, 71 percent of people are in serious condition. This is a difficult situation for Kiev doctors,” he said. Klitschko.
He added that despite the government’s promises, the people of Kiev were never provided with beds in the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and departmental hospitals. And this in total – more than 11 thousand beds.
