Konstantin Raykin fired from Russian university for anti-war statements

Rector of the Higher School of Scenic Arts (theatrical School of Konstantin Raykin) Anatoly Polyankin removed Konstantin Raykin from the post of artistic director of the university. This was reported to the Magazine “Theater”, the State Council of the Student School said.

Raykin was removed from office on April 12. The university’s student council considered the decision of the rector “unacceptable and coming against the interests of students.” Representatives of students called on Rosobrnadzor to draw their attention to this and “prevent the destruction of a unique educational institution.”

Earlier, Rykin said: “In each of us there is a genetic memory of war. We do not want a new war.”
