The food crisis has already begun, but the reason was not the Russian “military operation” in Ukraine, said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
Kommersant writes that according to Peskov, “too small grain percentage” is blocked in Ukraine, which does not affect the situation. For the supply of Russian grain to the West, it is necessary to change the sanctions imposed against the Russian Federation, he noted.
In addition, Peskov said that to solve the problem with the removal of Ukrainian grain, you need to understand the position of Kyiv. The representative of the Kremlin claims that in Ukraine there are “much smaller grains” than the Ukrainian authorities say. “It is not necessary to greatly exaggerate the value of these grain reserves in terms of influence on international grain markets, too small percentage in order to have a significant impact on the development of the food crisis that has already begun,” Peskov is convinced.
Peskov recalled the words of Vladimir Putin that for the supply of Russian grain to international markets, “it is necessary to change the appropriate sanctions.” In particular, restrictions affected the insurance of courts, also prohibited the entry of Russian ships to the ports of Europe.
