Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov announced alternative routes for Russian gas supplies to Europe. So the Kremlin representative commented on the refusal of the Ukrainian authorities to extend the Treaty on the transit of Russian gas.
“There are alternative routes. You know, there are plans to create a hub in Turkey, work is being carried out on this score, that is, there are alternative routes,” said Peskov, whose words are given by Russian media.
According to the Kremlin representative, “such a decision of the Ukrainian side will cause serious damage and the interests of European consumers.”
Due to such a decision, Europe will have to pay for gas “much more”, which will make the industry of the continent countries less competitive, – Peskov believes.
On Tuesday, August 27, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv would not renew the contract with Moscow on the transit of Russian gas, which expires at the end of 2024.
Magate visit to the Kursk NPP
The Kremlin also commented on the visit of the heads of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossy at the Kursk NPP.
“Actually, the assessment of the contacts that Mr. Grossy took place was given to the head of Rosatom yesterday. He actually expanded, in fact, outlined our position. He reported that yes, Grossy saw the results of the stamps at the station, appreciated the threat which these blows could represent, and the potential threat, for obvious reasons, refers to the lack of authority to declare the perpetrators in these blows (according to the Kursk nuclear power plant), but here everything is so obvious that, in fact, there are no questions on this score The guilt of the Ukrainian side is more than obvious in the escape of nuclear danger, ”said Peskov.
In the Kremlin, they also responded to the words of the President of Ukraine about the “Plan of Victory over Russia.”
“This is not the first time we hear such statements from representatives of the Kyiv regime, we are aware of the essence of this Kyiv regime, we continue our special military operation and achieve all the goals set,” said the Kremlin representative.
Peskov also stated the absence of prerequisites for negotiations in Ukraine.
“At the moment, it is more than obvious that there are no prerequisites for such negotiations,” he said.
In addition, the Kremlin commented on the fears of US presidential candidate Donald Trump regarding the threat of the third world war.
“Many countries of the so -called collective West climbed into this conflict, they are directly involved in it. Such sorties as in the Kursk region, of course, are escalated to the limit. Therefore, there is a reason for concern. And in this case, and in such alarmist statements can be treated with understanding, ”said the Kremlin representative.
