Kremlin: Cooling in relations between Turkey and Russia

The situation with flight restrictions to Turkey is not associated with bilateral relations between Moscow and Ankara, and depends on the deteriorating epidemiological situation with Coronavirus in this country, the press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Sadkov said to journalists. This is reported by Interfax.

“Relations with Turkey are developing, the situation with the ban on tourism – this situation is not related to bilateral relations, it is associated with a continuing pandemic and with a worsening epidemiological situation in Turkey,” said the sands.

He added: “And, of course, our Turkish partners may not be treated with understanding our own care of our own citizens. In this, actually, and consists of a partnership.”

answering the question whether it means that there is no cooling period in relations between Russia and Turkey, the sands said: “No, of course.”

Russia from April 15 to June 1 restricted regular and charter flights with Turkey and Tanzania due to the deterioration of the situation with the incidence of coronavirus in these countries. An exception will be the flights organized to return Russian citizens to the territory of the Russian Federation. Also persist on a mutual basis two flights per week on the route Moscow-Istanbul.
