Kremlin: CSTO mission has not yet arrived in Armenia

The mission of the organization of the Collective Security Treaty (CSTO), led by Secretary General Stanislav Zasem, has not yet arrived in Armenia. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“No, [the CSTO mission] has not yet arrived, as far as I know,” said the Kremlin representative.

“Still, the decision was made late in the evening only yesterday. It (mission) should still be formed, and you need to fly, get,” added a spokesman for the Russian leader.

On Tuesday, the CSTO Council at an extraordinary session in a video conference mode decided to send an organization’s mission to Armenia to assess the situation in connection with exacerbation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. As reported, the mission should include the Secretary General of the CSTO Stanislav Zas, the head of the United Staff of the CSTO, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov and representatives of the member states.
