The Kremlin after the refusal of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky from negotiations with the Russian colleague Vladimir Putin will wait for a change in the position of the current Kyiv authorities on this issue, or the arrival of the new head of the Ukrainian state with a different opinion, said Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation.
“We will now wait for either a change in the position of the current president, or we will already wait for the future president of Ukraine, who will change its positions in the interests of the Ukrainian people,” Peskov said in response to a request to comment on Kyiv’s refusal from negotiations with Russia.
The Kremlin representative also asked if, after Zelensky’s refusal, from negotiations with Putin, the “special operation” would end with the adoption of any document without Kyiv’s participation. “No. To negotiate, two sides are needed,” Peskov answered.
Note that earlier on Tuesday, September 4, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky entered into the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of negotiations with Vladimir Putin. On September 30, Zelensky stated that Ukraine does not intend to hold any negotiations with Russia while Putin is president.
