“Ukraine does not want peace, it is used as a tool in the war of the collective West with the Russian Federation,” he said.

According to Peskov, Moscow will follow the meeting in Saudi Arabia in Saudi in Ukraine, “but it remains to understand the purpose of such a meeting.”

“We have repeatedly said that any attempts to somehow contribute to a peaceful settlement are worthy of a positive assessment,” said Peskov.

Regarding the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey, Peskov noted that the leaders of the two countries will hold a telephone conversation on August 2.

“From the day before yesterday, when the president of [Russia Vladimir] Putin answered this question, nothing has changed. Indeed, a telephone conversation [with Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan], as Putin said, is planned to be on Wednesday,” he said .

Peskov emphasized that the date of the expected visit of the head of the Russian state to Turkey is still unknown.
