Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga announced the establishment of a dialogue between President Vladimir Zelensky and the newly elected US President Donald Trump.
“The dialogue between the President Zelensky and the elected President Trump has already been established. It has been established. Just the speed of a telephone conversation is a direct evidence of the existing direct dialogue between the heads of the countries that has already been established, exists and continues,” Sibiga said on the press. The Foreign Minister recalled that the meeting took place on November 6th.
“Of course, possible future contacts at the level of leaders were discussed. It was agreed that the teams would begin practical preparatory work to organize such a meeting. This is what I can tell you as of it for now,” the minister
Sibiga in his speech claimed that Russia dragged into the war of the North Korean troops, noting that this is a direct threat to the security of not only Europe, but also Southeast Asia.
“A fair world in Ukraine is a guarantee of peace, stability and freedom throughout Europe,” Sibiga emphasized.
The head of European diplomacy, in turn, repeated the unshakable support of the EU Ukraine, noting that the 15th package of sanctions against Russia is being prepared.
Borrel emphasized that Ukraine needs greater military support and announced the need to permit impacts on military facilities of the Russian Federation.
“We must do more and faster, and this is still so. More military support, more opportunities for training, more money, faster deliveries, as well as permission to strike at the enemy’s military facilities on its territory … We need more Fast deliveries and fewer self -tied red lines, ”he said.
Borrel believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want to negotiate.
“Ukraine must decide when to sit down at the negotiating table and on what conditions,” said Borrel.
Answering the question of what the EU should do in the event of a termination of Ukraine’s support from Trump, Borrel said that the EU has “its own” obligations to Ukraine. ”
“these are long -term obligations of 27 member states to ensure comprehensive support for Ukraine – military, financial, humanitarian and political assistance for ten years. These obligations remain in force,” he stressed.
“I do not want to speculate. It is not known exactly what the administration, which has not yet begun work, will do, and how the European Union will answer this today. The administration, which has not yet begun its activities, has not yet been a specific proposal,” – said Borrel.
He recalled that the training of the Ukrainian military continues in the EU countries. Borrel noted that on the creation of a training mission on the territory of Ukraine among the member countries has not yet been made a single decision.
