Ukraine is ready to discuss with Washington the issue of holding elections before the end of 2025 if it is raised by the new US administration. This was stated by the ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova on the air of the Supilna television channel.
According to the diplomat, the topic of elections with the new US administration has not yet been discussed.
“When this issue was theoretically discussed, in 2023-2024, our position was such that fighting needs to be completed for this. During the war, we will not be able to ensure a complete access to voting,” Markarova explained.

The head of the diplomatic mission noted that the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States is working on the organization of meetings of representatives of Ukraine and the USA.
The United States would like Ukraine to spend the presidential and parliamentary elections before the end of 2025 – especially if in the coming months Kyiv and Moscow are coordinating a truce. This was previously announced by the specialized US presidential settlement to resolve the Ukrainian conflict Keith Kellog.
