Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan has great potential in the field of tourism. Kyrgyzstan is preparing to extend the tourist season on Issyk-Kul for a whole year. The director of the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Maksat Usubaliev said this in an interview with Anadolu.
He noticed that the Issyk-Kul region is mainly preferred to visit in the summer season.
“In recent years, we have been observing an increased interest in the Issyk -Kul region and in other seasons. Since the winter season in the region is soft, it began to attract tourists,” said Usubaliev.
Usubaliev emphasized that in addition to beach tourism on Issyk-Kul, which he called a “unique place”, the region also attracts tourism in the field of culture, health, sports. According to him, there is also an opportunity for mountain-ski tourism.
Osubaev explained that the construction of the road, which will directly connect the Issyk-Kul region with Kazakhstan, is conducted bilaterally, the construction of a new international airport in the city of Karakol is ongoing, new types of hotel services are being created in the region, work is underway to create charging stations for electric vehicles for electric vehicles In Issyk-Kul.
