Last Year, About 2 Million People Visited Presidential Library

The presidential library last year was visited by about 2 million people.

This unique institution was opened on February 20, 2020 at a ceremony organized under the chairmanship of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The event was also attended by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyev, 2500 academicians, scientists and representatives of the cultural and artistic spheres.

The library is located on a closed area of ​​125 thousand square meters, has 201 kilometers of book shelves and accommodates 5,500 people. Due to its architecture, a rich collection, cultural and artistic spaces, as well as modern technological capabilities, the library is considered the “window of Turkey into the world.”

The Presidential Library gave a new impetus to the development of library business in Turkey. It works in 24/7 mode, providing services to all categories of readers, regardless of age, level of education or cultural background.

Its collection has 2.5 million printed books, 2.9 million periodicals related to 23,400 magazines, which is together 5.4 million printed sources.

There are also 950 thousand electronic books, 7.5 million electronic dissertations, 125 thousand electronic journals and more than 330 million articles, reports and other materials through 233 databases.

Since the opening, the library has accepted about 7 million visitors. Last year alone, it was visited daily from 5 to 6 thousand people on weekdays and from 12 to 15 thousand on weekends.

In the Nasroddin Khoja children’s library, 1650 events were organized in four years. In 2024, the library held 48 meetings and conversations involving 20,712 people, and also opened 10 exhibitions.
