Moscow would like to have good relations with Moldova, but this is a “double -sided street.”
This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov at the government hour in the State Duma.
“We want to have good relations with a friendly Moldova, multinational Moldova, but this, of course, is a double -sided street,” said Lavrov.
“Politicians who have now taken power in this country and who, by and large, declared their desire and join the European Union, and almost reunite with Romania, or even ask NATO to ensure their safety, these politicians still They do not reflect the interests of their people. There are calls to conduct early elections, this is the internal business of Moldova, but we are not at all the pleasure of using this friendly country for anti -Russian purposes, ”he added.
Moldova authorities want anti -Russian rhetoric to take away the accusations for the failure of domestic policy, Lavrov said.
On February 13, Moldova President Maya Sandu announced a briefing about the danger of destabilization in the country and urged parliament to provide additional powers to special services. According to her, the attacks are “preparing for Moldova” and the goal of “sabotage is to overthrow the constitutional system in order to transfer the country to Russia.”
