Lavrov in Tehran

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday arrived on a two -day working visit to the capital of Iran, TASS reports.

In Tehran, the head of the Russian diplomatic department will meet with the President of the Islamic Republic Ebrahim Raisi, and will also hold negotiations with his Iranian colleague Khosein Amir Abdollahiyan.

As the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova previously reported, the parties intend to exchange opinions on a number of current international issues, including the situation around the joint comprehensive action plan for the Iranian nuclear program, the state of affairs in Ukraine, in Syria, Afghanistan, Transcaucasia, Yemen and around Caspian Sea. In addition, ministers will discuss a bilateral agenda, which also concerns the implementation of key joint projects in the field of energy and transport, as well as the prospects for increasing cultural and humanitarian ties.
