Moscow is ready to contribute to the possible agreements of Washington and Tehran under a nuclear transaction, provided that such agreements will be mutually acceptable and will take into account the legitimate interests of the Islamic Republic. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov following negotiations with the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi.
“We are ready to help, meditate, play any role that will be useful and which will be acceptable to the United States from the point of view of Iran,” said the Foreign Minister.
According to the minister, Moscow proceeds from the fact that the only option “is an agreement exclusively for nuclear affairs.” “And I note especially that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to look for an agreement within the framework of the agreement on non -proliferation of nuclear weapons. This is a fundamental moment that those who are trying to take into account the negotiations that do not have [relations] to nuclear affairs, thereby creating a very risky situation,” Lavrov emphasized.
