Lavrov: Western selfish policy creates threat to security in Asia-Pacific region

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the selfish policy of Western countries creates very dangerous tension in the Asia-Pacific region and has already led to a crisis in the field of security of the European continent. Lavrov said this at a preparatory meeting, timed to the Summit of the future in 2024.

According to Lavrov, the task of the upcoming summit is to achieve “confirmation by all states – members of the principles of the UN Charter in all their fullness and interconnection.”

The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation emphasized that the Russian side joins “to a call to the Secretary General [UN Antoniu Guterris] to prepare a report on the negative consequences of unilateral sanctions”.
