Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Minister of Defense Sergey Shoigu discussed the situation in Karabakh with French colleagues Jean-Yves Le Drian and Flowrans Parley. The meeting was held in Paris in the framework of cooperation of the Security Council of France and Russia, reported on the Foreign Ministry website.
It is noted that during the negotiations discussed joint efforts of France and Russia as co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on the signing of a long-term peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Also discussed the theme of the Iran nuclear program, the situation in Belarus and Ukraine, regional security in the Middle East, the unacceptability of the placement of the militants of the CHVC Wagner on the African continent, as well as the question of the Russian oppositionist Alexei Navalnyh.
