The positions of Russia and Turkey, including on the issues of the Syrian settlement, sometimes seriously disagree, but the parties almost always manage to find a compromise, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the International Conference of the Valdai Club, writes Russian newspaper.
“Sometimes the position is even seriously different, but we value our relationship, because you can always find decisions with Turkish colleagues that arrange us and them,” the Russian minister noted.
According to Lavrov, it is typical for the meetings of the presidents, and for meetings at the level of foreign ministers: “It is always better to negotiate with a person who affects the specific situation and has different from your eyes.”
As an example of Lavrov called an agreement on Idlib. The protocol consistent several years ago is slower than negotiated, but the Turkish side confirms all its obligations.
