The negotiations of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Iran Sergei Lavrov and Hossein Amir-Abollahian planned for January 17 were postponed to a later date. This was reported in the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The reason is not specified. The decision was made by agreement of both parties, according to the Russian External Office.
Initially, negotiations of Lavrov and Abdollahian were scheduled for January 17 in Moscow.
Earlier, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova reported that the Russian and Iranian sides intend to discuss the process of restoring the joint comprehensive plan of actions for the Iranian nuclear program (SVPD), as well as to affect the issues of the international and regional agenda, including the situation in Syria, Afghanistan, on South Caucasus and Caspian problems.
