In Tbilisi, a court session did not take place over the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili due to a sharp deterioration in his state of health, his lawyer Shot Tutberidze told reporters.
The meeting was supposed to take place in the Vivamed clinic, where Saakashvili is being treated, Russian media write.
“Today, representatives of the court and prosecutor’s office broke into the hospital with Mikhail Saakashvili without any preliminary warning and tried to receive readings from him. These illegal actions caused a sharp deterioration in the health of Saakashvili bed rest. He had to provide urgent medical care,” – The lawyer said.
The prosecutor in this case, Levan Vepkhvadze, said that Saakashvili refused to testify to the court, but the process will continue on October 19.
