At a meeting of the Council of Lawyers and Legal Societies of Europe (SSVE) in Dublin, a college of lawyers of Azerbaijan by an overwhelming majority vote was elected a member of the SSVE on May 13.
“Azerbaijani lawyers who received membership in the SSVE is entrusted with a key task – to make Azerbaijan be heard in the European legal arena, and the realities of Karabakh and Zangezura have reached the level of international law,” said Azerbaijani college, head Kengerly and Partners Lawyer Ismail Kengerly.
According to Kengerly, membership in the SSVE opens the European legal rostrum not only for organizations, but also for all Azerbaijani lawyers. And this means that the Polish Political Policy proclaimed by President Ilham Aliyev should be continued in the legal field, and the crimes committed against the Azerbaijani people should receive a corresponding legal assessment in the arena of international law.
After Anar Bagirov was elected chairman of the Bar Association, this structure became open for both local and international communities. Over the past four years, the college of lawyers of Azerbaijan has become a member of almost all international legal associations, having made a path to overcoming the whole number of countries for decades.
The membership of the Azerbaijani Bar Association in the SSVA expands the possibilities of cooperation between Azerbaijani jurists with European colleagues, organizations and legal societies. Our experts open the possibilities of internships in Europe to increase their professional training, new tools appear to further improve the work of the Bar Association.
Invalism in the SSVE can be called one of the biggest successes of Azerbaijan in the international arena, achieved over the past four years. This success has positively affects the image of our country, since for many years there were certain tension and misunderstanding in Azerbaijan’s relations with SSVE. Now, as a result of the thoughtful foreign policy of Azerbaijan, real opportunities have appeared for active activity in the international arena, as well as to demonstrate their position against unreasonable claims
In this regard, it is appropriate to recall that the structure of CCBE, uniting colleges of lawyers, legal societies, as well as more than a million private lawyers of the member countries of the Council of Europe and the European Union, is one of the largest and most influential organizations of the Old World.
