LDPR chose a new chairman

Leonid Slutsky became the new chairman of the LDPR party. Such a decision was made at the extraordinary congress of the party, convened after the death of its founder Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Interfax reports.

Slutsky’s candidacy was the only one. Slutsky was elected chairman for four years. In accordance with the charter of the party, it can be re -elected an unlimited number of times.

Founder of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky died on April 6 after a long illness. He headed the party from the first day of its existence. Slutsky since mid -May has been the post of leader of the LDPR faction in the State Duma. He is also the chairman of the Duma Committee on International Affairs.
