The leaders of the African countries who took part in the 15th General Assembly of the International Agency for Renewable Energy Sources (Irena), held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), discussed the importance of joint actions to combat climate change and the necessary Steps for the economic development of the continent.
President of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinube said that no country can alone go on the way to sustainable development.
According to him, the fight against climate change requires cooperation between countries.
“The fight against climate change is not just an environmental task, it is an economic opportunity that will change our continent and the global energy landscape,” Tinubu said.
In turn, President Rwandy Paul Kagama announced the need to extract lessons from errors of the past.
He noted that it is necessary to begin to solve problems as part of climate change by introducing modern technologies.
Meanwhile, Uganda President Yuriani Kaguta Museveni indicated that investment in Africa will open access to the growing market of the continent.
The call of African leaders is aimed at paving the path to wider international cooperation on such global issues as climate change and economic development.
The summit also emphasized the role of novative technologies that play a decisive role in the issue of climatic crisis.
