Leaders Of Kyrgyzstan And Germany Discussed Bilateral Cooperation

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov on Wednesday, November 26, held negotiations with the German Chancellor Olaf Sholts in an extended format. This is stated in the message of the press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including economic interaction, the development of “green” economy, the implementation of infrastructure and energy projects.

Olaf Sholts emphasized that Germany attaches great importance to partnership with Kyrgyzstan.

Sadyr Zhaparov with satisfaction noted the positive dynamics of relations between Kyrgyzstan and Germany in recent years, emphasizing the important role in this matter of the Central Asia -Germany dialogue platform. He outlined that cooperation with Germany covers many spheres: from sustainable political dialogue to the implementation of joint projects in the field of economics, health and vocational education.

Sadyr Zhaparov expressed the readiness of Kyrgyzstan to maintain Germany’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations. He focused on a number of significant projects implemented in Kyrgyzstan with the support of Germany.

The President of Kyrgyzstan emphasized the prospects of the development of trade, economic and investment ties, mentioning the legislative measures undertaken by the country’s leadership aimed at strengthening the protection of investors’ rights and improving the country’s investment climate.

During the conversation, Sadyr Zhaparov noted that cooperation in the field of climate change is becoming paramount importance, mentioning the melting of glaciers and related threats. He recalled his initiative to create in Bishkek a regional center of energy -efficient technology in partnership with Germany.

He also touched on the conversion of the state debt of Kyrgyzstan to Germany.

The President of Kyrgyzstan said that the country is implementing large energy and infrastructure projects, industry, agriculture, tourist cluster and other sectors are also actively developing. He stated that there are good opportunities for the intensification of cooperation with Germany and proposed to consider Kyrgyzstan as a reliable partner for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.

At the end of the meeting, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted the importance of interacting with Germany as part of the EU strategy for Central Asia and signed in Brussels in June 2024 of an expanded partnership with the European Union. He expressed his readiness to make efforts for the further development of multifaceted cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Germany.
