President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov on Tuesday, December 3, as part of an official visit to Seoul, held negotiations with the President of the Republic of Korea Yun John Yol in an expanded format. This was reported by the press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the presidential press service, the issues of the progressive deepening of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyz and Korea in areas representing mutual interest were discussed.
President Yun Sok Yol noted that Kyrgyzstan and Korea, after the conclusion of diplomatic relations in 1992, developed close and friendly contacts.
He emphasized that Korean companies are currently activated to the market of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the exchange between citizens of the two countries.
Yun Sok Yol expressed the hope that today’s meeting will contribute to the further construction of mutually beneficial strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields, such as the economy, the environment, energy, supply chains and others.
President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan and South Korea are united by many years of friendly and partnerships, which become stronger every year.
The head of state emphasized that the Republic of Korea is one of the priority partners of Kyrgyzstan in the Asia-Pacific region and noted that the lack of serious disagreements between countries creates favorable conditions for strengthening cooperation both in bilateral format and in multilateral venues.
The Head of State expressed the willingness to deepen political dialogue, including at the level of heads of government and parliaments.
Particular attention was paid to the initiative “K -Silk Road” (“Kay – Silk Road”) aimed at developing regional connections. The President emphasized the support of this initiative and assured that Kyrgyzstan was ready to make every effort to implement it.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Republic of Korea in the field of ecology and sustainable development, expressing readiness to implement joint “green projects” and the development of renewable energy. He invited the Korean side to participate in the Global Mountain Summit “Bishkek+25” in 2027, noting the significance of joint efforts in the fight against climate changes.
President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that the agreements reached will serve as the basis for the further strengthening of the Kyrgyz-Korean relations, and invited the President of the Yun Jole to visit Kyrgyzstan on an official visit.
As part of the official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to South Korea, a number of bilateral documents aimed at building the Kyrgyz-Korean joint interaction have been signed today. Among them are a joint statement on the establishment of a comprehensive partnership between the Republic of Korea and the Kyrgyz Republic and the framework of cooperation in the field of climate change between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea;
