On Wednesday, May 10, as part of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, negotiations at the highest level in a narrow format and with the participation of official delegations were held in Tajikistan, the press service of the Tajik leader reports.
During the negotiations that took place in the atmosphere of friendship and complete understanding, the presidents of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan discussed a wide range of interstate relations, exchanged opinions on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.

The President of Tajikistan also noted that over thirty years of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, they have actively developed in many directions and the parties have achieved significant results in strengthening interaction.
Rakhmon noted the stable dynamics of the development of cooperation between the two countries in political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas. As components of a complex of multifaceted ties, an active expansion of inter -parliamentary cooperation was noted.
The issues of trade and economic interaction were discussed in detail, agreements on taking the necessary measures for the further development of this aspect of the relationship were reached.
In this context, the parties emphasized such areas of interaction as industrial cooperation, energy and agrarian sectors, transport and communication.
The parties spoke in to the further expansion of ties in the fields of culture, education, science, sports and tourism.
It is also indicated by the active interaction of the parties on international sites.
The President of Tajikistan expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the active support of Tajikistan global initiatives in water and climate.
