Leaders Of Turkey And Somalia Discussed Cooperation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting in Ankara with a colleague from Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mahmud. This is stated in the report of the Relations Department under the Administration of the President of Turkey.

According to the report, the leaders discussed the state of bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues.

During the conversation, President Erdogan emphasized that Türkiye attaches great importance to the world, security and territorial integrity of Somalia. The Turkish leader assured that Ankara will continue to assist the process of establishing a constant world and stability between Somalia and Ethiopia.

The head of state also emphasized Turkey’s intention to expand active cooperation with Somalia in the fight against terrorism. He indicated that Türkiye invariably supports the Somali people in counteracting this phenomenon.

In addition, President Erdogan attracted attention to the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Somalia in the areas of economics, trade, security and defense.
