Lebanon and Israel are close to agreement

Lebanon and Israel are approaching the achievement of an agreement on the marine border, the special representative of the United States and Lebanese officials said, AP.

Lebanon and Israel are officially at war since the creation of Israel in 1948, and both countries claim about 860 square kilometers of the Mediterranean Sea.

Senior Energy Security Advisor at the US State Department, Amos Hokhstein, who acted as an intermediary between two neighbors, expressed optimism after his meetings in Beirut with the President of Livan, temporarily acting as the Prime Minister and the speaker of the parliament.

Khokhstein’s joint meeting with senior management may indicate that the breakthrough is close and that the political leadership of Lebanon supports such a deal.
