The volume of citrus exports from Turkey in the first quarter of 2023 amounted to about $ 352 million, while $ 296 million from this amount was for the share of lemons and tangerines.
According to the Anadolu agency with reference to the data of the Union of Exporters of the Mediterranean region, in January-March of this year 603,488 tons of citrus fruits were delivered from Turkey.
In the reporting period, tangerines and lemons became the most popular products of Turkish farmes from among citrus fruits.
Income from the sale of 316 619 tons of tangerines abroad in the first quarter of 2023 amounted to 206 million 856 thousand dollars, from the supply of 185,240 tons of lemon – 89 million 833 thousand dollars.
The export of tangerines in the first quarter of this year increased by 30 percent, lemons by 1 percent compared to the first quarter of last year.
There are also among the most popular products from the number of citrus grapefruit, the export income of which amounted to 28 million 644 thousand dollars, and orange – 26 million 327 thousand dollars.
