At the moment, Tripoli does not have the opportunity to increase deliveries to the European Union of Oil and Gas, said Minister of Oil and Gas Libya Mohammed Aun, explaining this to the need to modernize the national oil and gas industry, RIA Novosti reports.
“Libya cannot increase gas or oil supplies to Europe, since it does not have them now. An increase in the production of Libyan oil requires the completion of the processes of modernization of oil industry facilities in the presence of effective and transparent management,” said Libyan minister.
The export capacity of the oil and gas sector of Libya was paralyzed after the exacerbation of the political crisis in the country. As of April 18, the work of ports and mining enterprises was stopped by the protesters requiring the resignation of Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dabey and the transfer of power to the elected parliament to the head of the Fatah Bashag government.
