Lithuania plans to create a park of engineering funds on the border with Russia, reports LRT.
Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrid Shinonit on Friday, May 3 will visit Klaipeda in order to discuss issues of strengthening the security of the border with Russia.
The head of the Lithuanian government will visit the divisions of the Lithuanian State Border Protection Service, including the coastal security unit recreated this year.
In addition, Shinite will get acquainted with ensuring the safety of strategic objects.
According to Lithuania, the entire state border with Russia is currently controlled by observation systems, including places where there is no physical barrier.
The border is guarded by two divisions of the State Border Guard Service: the Pagegia Border detachment and the coast guard detachment.
In order to strengthen the capabilities of employees to ensure border control this year, 30 posts of video surveillance systems will be created.
In addition, on this part of the state border, it is planned to place a park of engineering equipment to stop the possible movement of the enemy, the repair and installation of patrol routes will continue here.
It is supposed to update surveillance systems abroad, continue to improve the drones and means of combating drones, strengthen the interaction of border guards with the army of Lithuania, organize joint exercises.
The length of the line of the state border with the Kaliningrad region of Russia is 297 kilometers.
