Lithuania began transferring to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces) 36 anti -aircraft guns BOFORS L70.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Lithuania Arvidas Anushauskas, speaking at a joint briefing with the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov.
“We have already completed the training of 15 instructors who will be ready to work in Ukraine. And we already provide 36 complexes who can successfully fight drones,” said the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.
Lithuania in January declared readiness to provide Ukraine with automatic anti-aircraft guns L70 produced by the Swedish concern BOFORS, ammunition and two Mi-8 helicopters (which have been in operation for about 30 years) with a total value of 125 million euros. As Anushauskas said at the end of December 2022, military assistance provided by Lithuania Ukraine will exceed 300 million euros in 2023. This year, military deliveries, as the minister previously claimed, is planned in the amount of 40 million euros, and since the beginning of the war, Vilnius provided Kyiv military aid in the amount of 283 million euros.
