The American military battalion will remain in Lithuania for an unlimited period, and not until the end of 2025, as previously planned.
This was announced during a visit to the United States, the Minister of Defense of Lithuania Laurinas Kashunas, reports LRT.
“During a visit to Washington, I received a firm and clear confirmation of the US National Security Council that the United States in Lithuania will remain unchanged indefinitely,” the head of the defense department noted.

According to Kashchunas, the presence and training in Lithuania will allow the American contingent to ensure proper readiness for any scenario.
“During the meetings, I made it clear that the US presence in Lithuania was necessary, and together with NATO, the German brigade and national forces is precisely the necessary combat power that can reliably restrain Russia,” Caschunas emphasized.
In October 2022, it was announced that after the United States approved the Row of Retia forces in the Baltic countries, the US Army battalion will be located in Lithuania until the end of 2025
American battalions have been rotten in Lithuania since 2019, and the company’s companies have been deployed in Lithuania in 2014-2017.
Kashchunas also said that the Americans accelerated the supply of Javelin anti -tank missiles to Lithuania. According to him, the weapon will act in May.
