The Agency of Defense Resources under the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania signed contracts for the purchase of various types of drones in the amount of almost 36 million euros.
According to the press service of the department, in particular, the small intelligence drones of the Latvian company Edge Autonomy and the intelligence mini-conapalists of the Estonian company Threod Systems, as well as Lithuanian quadrocopter from UAB Deftools.
The vast majority of drones should be put this fall, the rest – at the beginning of 2025.
These purchases are urgently carried out to strengthen the potential of drones and their speedy integration into the armed forces of Lithuania, the Ministry of Defense notes.
“Until 2030, about 200 million euros are provided for the acquisition of all types of unmanned systems. On average, it is planned to spend 30 million euros per year,” the press release says.
