Lithuanian President Approved Updated Government

President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauceda signed a decree on the composition of the government in which two new ministers appeared, reports LRT.

Aurimas Pechkauskas, who acted as vice -minister of healthcare, was appointed Minister of Health, and the Minister of Agriculture was the Kazis Starkevichyus, chairman of the Sejm Committee on Economics.

The remaining 12 ministers who held their posts before the government’s resignation will continue their work.

The cabinet is reassigned, because, according to the Constitution, the Prime Minister must resign after the president’s inauguration.

Nauceda, re -elected in May for a second term, was a swearing in July.

The President appointed Shinite the Prime Minister on July 22 and, according to the law, instructed her to form a cabinet of ministers within 15 days – the deadline that expires at the beginning of this week.
