Ukraine as an official candidate for EU
In June 2022, against the backdrop of a conflict with Russia, Ukraine received the status of a candidate for joining the EU. This decision was a landmark event confirming the support of European partners. However, receiving candidate status only the first step towards full membership.
For joining the EU Ukraine, seven key conditions put forward by the European Commission must fulfill. Among them, this is the fight against corruption, judicial reform, protection of the rights of national minorities, strengthening the legislation on deoligarchization and the improvement of antimonopoly regulation.
