London Discussed Cooperation Of Kyrgyzstan And Britain

On February 13, the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-British strategic dialogue was held on February 13, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Meder Abakirov and the State Minister for European Affairs and Central Asia of Great Britain, Stephen Dauti. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the statement, the delegations considered the directions of interaction in the areas of politics, security, trade, investment, finance, energy, sustainable development, culture, education and tourism.

The parties also exchanged views on regional and international issues representing mutual interest.

Abakirov emphasized the importance of launching a strategic dialogue as a new platform for deepening bilateral cooperation. The dynamics of political and economic contacts between the two countries was noted, which creates favorable conditions for the further expansion of the Kyrgyz-British partnership.

Attention was paid to issues: expanding trade and investment interaction, attracting British investors in the Kyrgyz Republic and the possibility of increasing the exports of Kyrgyz products to the UK. The meeting participants indicated the need to activate educational and scientific exchanges, including scholarship programs and projects in the field of digitalization of education. An exchange of views on joint initiatives in the field of “green economy”, climatic changes and sustainable development took place.

Following the results of the first meeting of the strategic dialogue, a joint statement was adopted.
