Longest Bridge In Central Asia Will Be Built In Tajikistan

In Tajikistan, as part of the project for the construction of the Obugar-Nunbed highway, the construction of the longest road bridge in Central Asia will begin, Avesta reports.

It is reported that the project was signed by the Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrochim and a representative of the Chinese company Zhejiang Communications Construction Group Co Ltd (CCCC) Lee Minkun.

According to the report, the length of the automobile bridge will be 920 m, and with access roads- 1,500 m.

The Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim said that the bridge will go across the Surhob River in the Nurabad district and will become the largest infrastructure object in the region.

In addition, the minister noted that the project is of strategic importance for the country’s economy.

“The construction of the bridge should be completed efficiently and in the established time limits, it may be possible to complete the work earlier,” he emphasized the Ibrochim.

It is noted that the total cost of the project, which is planned to be completed for 4 years, will be 427.5 million Chinese yuan (about 59.8 million US dollars).

According to the representative of the Chinese company Lee Minconia, Zhejiang has been successfully working in Tajikistan for several years and has significant experience in the construction of roads and bridges.
