Lock Sabha, the lower house of the India Parliament, adopted a bill aimed at expanding the control of the central government over the property of Muslim funds (WACFs).
VACFFOCTION OFFICE OF THE India is currently regulated by the 1995 WACFA Law. The initiative to amend this law was made by the Indian ruling party “Bharatiya Dzhanat Party” (BDP). In support of the bill, 288 Chelnov of the lower house of India spoke, against – 232.
Further, the document should be approved in the upper house of the parliament, the Council of States (Raja Sabha), and then presented to President Draupadi Murma for approval.
The main opposition party of the country of the Indian National Congress (INC) opposed the bill, calling it unconstitutional and discriminatory against Muslims.
“The bill (amendment) on vacufs is a weapon aimed at the marginalization of Muslims and the usurpation of their personal and property rights,” wrote the former President of Ink Rahul Gandhi on the social network x.
The Central Government of India is trying to amend the 1995 WacFas Law in order to expand its control over the property of Muslim vacation.
On March 24, Muslims of India initiated a national campaign against this bill.
