President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree, according to which the Ministry of Finance of the country is allowed to pay national debt in national currency. The merchant reports that the publication has appeared on the site of the department on March 17.
The Ministry of Finance also forbidden to alienate shares in companies to shareholders from countries that have introduced sanctions.
The text of the declaration says that in case of introducing sanctions from the “unfriendly countries”, due to which the “freezing” of investment projects in Belarus may occur, the Ministry of Finance is allowed to pay public debt to such countries in national currency.
The decree of Lukashenko also refers to the prohibition of shareholders from countries that introduced sanctions, align the shares “in the authorized funds of such legal entities on the list determined by the Council of Ministers.” Also, the Council of Ministers is granted the right to establish an increased rate of tax on foreign organizations in relation to possible dividend payments, royalties, interest income.
