Lukashenko: Belarus Considers Moldova As Reliable Partner

Belarus considers Moldova as a reliable partner and is ready to resume cooperation.

This is stated in the text of the message of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to the people of Moldova with the Day of Independence, which is quoted by the press service of the head of state.

Lukashenko noted that the peoples of the two countries are connected by strong ties of many years of friendship, based on common spiritual and moral values, cultural traditions, a joint heroic past.

“In 2024, both countries celebrate the 80th anniversary of liberation from fascism. In Belarus, they carefully store the memory of the inhabitants of Moldova who died for the freedom of Belarusian land during the Great Patriotic War,” Lukashenko noted.

The Head of State emphasized that now thousands of Belarusians living in Moldova, and Moldova, who connected their lives with Belarus, continue to work successfully, create international families, with a personal example demonstrating the open and creative nature of our relationships.

“Minsk always examined Chisinau as a reliable partner and is ready to resume constructive cooperation. Only equal and respectful dialogue of old friends and neighbors is able to help overcoming modern challenges,” the president drew attention.

On Tuesday, August 27, the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova is celebrated. On August 27, 1991, the Great National Assembly was convened in the Moldavian SSR, as a result of which the parliament voted for the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

In the capital of the country – Chisinau and other cities of the republic, various holiday events are held dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova.
