President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on behalf of the Belarusian people and personally congratulated the people of the kingdom of Belgium on the national holiday, the press service of the head of state said.
For centuries, the Belarusians and the Belgians defended their right to live and build in an independent state, the Belarusian leader noted. “In recent decades, our countries have actively expanded bilateral cooperation, especially in the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, which, of course, has contributed to the well -being and development of both peoples,” the congratulations said. “Unfortunately, in connection with the short -sighted policy of the European Union regarding Belarus, the relations between us are not the best period.”
Lukashenko expressed confidence that the speedy refusal of confrontation policy and the joint search for ways to resolve contradictions will contribute to the establishment of peace on the European continent.
The President of Belarus confirmed the readiness of Minsk to deepen partnerships of mutual respect for Belgium in all directions, and also wished the residents of the kingdom of health, consent and prosperity.
