Macron: EU Does Not Plan To Cancel Anti -Russian Sanctions

The participants in the summit in Ukraine in Paris unanimously decided that now it was not the time to cancel anti -Russian sanctions. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron.

“As long as Russia continues aggression, there will be no softening of sanctions,” said the French leader at a press conference following the results of the summit.

touching the prospects of the Ukrainian settlement, Macron noted that US President Donald Trump will be “deceived and devoted” if Russia does not give a “clear answer” regarding the proposed ceasefire in Ukraine.

“If Russia does not give a clear answer, then President Trump will feel deceived and devoted, and he will have to react to this,” said Macron.

The President of France also called on the chairman of China Xi Jinping to the “entirely active role” in the assistance of establishing peace in Ukraine. “I hope that the President of SI will be able to help us establish a strong and long -term world,” the politician said.

According to Macron, in order to strengthen the position of the Allies of Ukraine, he and British Prime Minister Kir Starkmer will jointly lead efforts to coordinate the international support of Kyiv.

Macron also touched on the initiative to deploy “support forces” from a number of European countries in “strategic areas” in Ukraine. “They will have a restraining effect against potential Russian aggression. This contingent, representing several states due to the lack of unanimous support, will be placed in predetermined strategic areas with the consent of Ukraine,” he explained.

The president added that he is striving to support from the United States in the process of deploying European forces. At the same time, he noted that he considers it appropriate preparation for the script without US participation.

Macron also said that France and Britain intend to send a joint military delegation to Kyiv in order to begin the development of the future structure of the Ukrainian army.

The French leader indicated that the EU accelerates the allocation of approved G7 loans to provide financial support to Ukraine.
