Macron Offered Ceasefire In Ukraine For Month

French President Emmanuel Macron said that together with the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Kirir Senerier, to Ukraine and Russia, the monthly ceasefire, which covers air attacks, the sea, as well as attacks on energy infrastructure.

speaking to the French newspaper Le Figaro after a summit in Ukraine, which took place in London, Macron emphasized that Europe should play a key role in resolving the conflict and should not remain on the second roles of Washington and Moscow.

At the same time, the French leader expressed doubts that Russia would observe a possible ceasefire agreement if it is reached only with Moscow and Washington. In this regard, he emphasized the need for constant monitoring by the international community.

Speaking about the possibility of sending the French military to Ukraine, Macron noted that this issue can be discussed only after the ceasefire and the subsequent signing of a peace agreement, negotiations on which will take several weeks.

“We want peace. But we are not acceptable without security guarantees at all costs,” said the president of France. He also emphasized the importance of increasing defense investments in Europe and reminded of the goal to allocate 3-3.5% of GDP for defense.

On the eve of London, a summit was held on the security of Ukraine and the prospects for achieving a long -term world. The meeting participants agreed to continue the military support of Kyiv, to strengthen economic pressure on Russia, as well as seek Ukraine’s participation in future peace negotiations.
