More than a million people in the south of Madagascar are desperately trying to survive in the conditions of the first in the history of hunger caused by the global climate change. This is reported by the UN.
It is noted that Madagascar has suffered a lot as a result of many years of drought. According to the representative of the World Food Program, Alice Rakhmun, in some localities, people can still grow something, but every year they have to overcome more and more difficulties. But in other places absolutely nothing grows now, and people are trying to survive, feeding by locust, fruit and cactus leaves.
The World Food Program cooperates with the Government of the country, resulting in about 700 thousand people receive assistance to products.
